    The Bob Cook Memorial hill climb: from Idaho Springs up Chicago Creek to Echo Lake, then the highest paved road in North America past Mount Goliath’s bristlecones and Summit Lake to 4,307 m. 44 km and 2,000 m.

  • Echo Lake to the Summit

    The byway’s upper half alone: above the trees at Mount Goliath, across the tundra to Summit Lake and up the last switchbacks to the summit car park, with mountain goats on the verges.

  • Mestaa’ėhehe & Juniper Passes

    From Bergen Park up Colorado 103 through the lodgepoles to Mestaa’ėhehe Pass, on to the top by Juniper Pass at 3,400 m and down to Echo Lake. 29 km and 1,050 m.
